this week we learned about evaporation.Evaporation happens when energy not heat(there is no such thing as heat)is transfered to the water. then the water molicules speed up and some lift away from the surface as steam.

We did two exsperaments to prove this theory:

We put a little water in a small test tube corked it then put the bottom on top of a bunson burner. then about thirty seconds later the cork poped off and shot across the room.

the second one was that my teacher put some water in a plastic water bottle then lit a match and let the smoke go in side the bottle after that he screwed on the cap then scweezed the bottle. and when he let go the water molicules had condensed arond the smake after the sudden decrease in pressure and created a cloud.
